CORPORATE PARADIZE

To make the students aware of the current happenings in the corporate world as well as provide them with mentors, SMG Pune has brought out an unique initiative called “Corporate Paradize”. The first Corporate Paradize was held on 9th June, 2007 which was attended by top honchos from companies like Infosys, UBICS, System Plus etc . The topic for discussion was “Technology – of the people, for the people & by the people" where in they gave different examples from all around the world as in how technology has played a pivotal role in revolutionizing the way financial institutions and capital markets operate worldwide. They even invited students to put forward their views. Global Warming was one main topic which was broadly taken into consideration. The students also put forward challenging questions to the speakers that fuelled a spirited and healthy all-round discussion.

The second Corporate Paradize was organised on 28th June, 2007. The topic for discussion was “Can India become a global manufacturing hub??" The speakers were Mr Pankaj Gupta and Mr Shukla of Tata Steel and Mr Shrirang Deshmukh of Thermax. Each of the speakers beautifully articulated  their ideas and views on the robust growth experienced by the Indian manufacturing sector and the huge contribution made to the GDP growth. The event was concluded with the gratified answers by the panel members in respect to the questions raised by the students and was formally settled by felicitating the guests with tokens of respect
