CYCBTH STUDENT SEMINAR
The crème-de-la-crème of November was the Count Your Chickens Student Seminar presented by Prof Arindam Chaudhuri at Le Meridien on 2nd November.
The immediate impact of the students was great euphoria among the students who got an opportunity to interact with Prof Chaudhuri and also take home invaluable nuggets of wisdom about leadership and India-centric values.

PRE - BUDGET SEMINAR
Keeping up with the past tradition, IIPM Pune organized the Pre-Budget Seminar for the 3rd consecutive year at the MCCIA Auditorium on 24th February, 2007. The eminent speakers at this seminar were Mr Vinesh Kriplani (Partner, E&Y), Ms Madhuri Dandekar (CFO, Tata Toyo), Mr Chandrasekhar Chitale (Treasurer, MCCIA), Ms Mona Shah (Faculty, NICMAR) & Mr Satish Shivalkar (VP-Finance, Alfa Laval). The highlight of the seminar was a Pre-Budget Survey & Sectorial Analysis Presentation given by IIPM Students. The whole event was covered by the local TV Channels and Newspapers. |

THE RAGE OF THE BULLS
The Finex Club of IIPM Pune hosted a stock market contest called “Rage of the Bulls” that witnessed 6 teams battling for 12 weeks to maximize their portfolio through stock market investment. The finals were presided by L Satalkar, a prominent stock market analyst from Pune. |

WORLD BANK
The Indian Institute of Planning & Management (IIPM), on the basis of their academic collaboration with World Bank organized a videoconferencing for its students back in all 7 IIPM centres in India, namely, Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune on 4th October .The session started at 6.30 pm and lasted till 10.15 pm.As a part of their Global Opportunity and Threat Analysis (GOTA) program, every year IIPM students undergo academic and corporate training for 10-15 days in varied industries across different countries consecutively this year, the top 60 elitist speakers have been sent for an educational trip to USA from October 01, 2007 to October 14, 2007. The students have been taken to Washington DC and New Jersey for a series of seminars, workshops and discussions.
The Session opened about the facts and figures about the Indian Economy. The focus was on four inconvenient truths about the India's Economic Growth. How India Grew despite massive fiscal deficits , debt accumulation despite India's Economies Growth, service deliveries in Infrastructure, health, education, matter, Sanitation are stagnating.
The interactive session was enjoyed by the students by participating in the discussion through Questions and answers. |

HR SUMMIT
IIPM Pune hosted a HR Meet on 26th August titled “Endeavor – Ek Prayas” at Le Meridien Hotel that provided a platform to eminent speakers from blue chip corporations and invited participation from over 50 HR professionals from different industries. The prominent speakers were Brig Ajit Apte , Head HR (Mphasis BFL), Mr Shrikant Kulkarni, Head HR (Cummins Info), Mr Umesh Kolhatkar, Head HR (ACC), Mr RH Marlapalle, Head HR (Endurance) and Mr Avinash Nene, Head HR (Primlaks). |

AD GURU - AN ADVERTISING WORKSHOP
The 4Ps Club of IIPM Pune hosted a competition on AD-Analysis where the students showcased the most creative ads while narrating the background history with a strategic dissection. Mr Naresh Parwani , marketing head of Havells India and Ms Smita Deshmukh, creative head of Pratisaad presided as the judges of the event. |

POST BUDGET SEMINAR
Continuing the tradition of understanding National Economics through Budget Analysis, IIPM Pune ventured to organize a Post- Budget Seminar titled NEXUS – Post –Budget Analysis at the Pudumjee Hall, MCCIA in Pune on SATURDAY, March 18. The keynote speakers were Mr. Monish Darda, Director (WEBSYM Technologies), Mr. Atul Mehrotra, AVP-Finance (UMA Precision Ltd.), Dr. M.K Datar – G.M. Finance – IDBI BANK. Apart from the knowledge enhancing sessions, the special attraction of the Seminar was a a scintillating presentation done by IIPM Students on Impact Analysis and Post Budget Survey. The Impact Analysis was done on 17 Sectors and covered both the positive and negative outlook. The post budget survey brought out some interesting findings --- only 28% respondents were very happy with the budget announcements, 67% were very happy that the budget will be able to create educational facilities, 44% said Budget be able to create better Infrastructure but 62 % were of the opinion that the hike in service tax will affect the service sector adversely. |

MARKETING GLADIATOR
This exciting event hosted by the 4Ps Club encouraged the students to create exciting brands as well as market them. This competition was finally won by the team lead by Onkar, who created an exciting health drink out of neem and nimbu. |

RETAIL SEMINAR
The 4ps Club of IIPM Pune organised a mega-seminar on Retail titled “ Modern Retailing --- Challenges in India” organised at the ICC Tower in Pune. The key speakers were Mr. Preetam Salvi (Unit Head – Shoppers Stop), Ms. Madhuri (Marketing Head – Inox Leisure), Ms. Payoshni – Marketing Head – Spencers Daily. This seminar gave the students a complerte overview about high end retailing, mass retailing and role of multiplexes in retailing. |
