With tears of joy and anxious hope for a glorious future, the batch of 2004-’06 bid their final adieu to their ‘darling institution’ on March9,2006.
The Convocation ceremony – a memory that will never fade – for this privileged lot was a gala affair.
True to tradition, the evening began with the ‘lamp lighting ceremony’ by the guest of honor for the evening Mr. Anil K. Aggarwal, CEO Cosmos Industries and Director, IIPM Dr.M.K.Chaudhuri.The lamp gave light to the evening and Director Sir gave new light to contemporary issues. Every word was a reflection of reality, experience and his uncompromising commitment to The Great Indian Dream. Such was the passion and conviction with which he spoke, that perceptions were shattered, and out of the ruins emerged fresh perspectives. The guest of honor, Mr.Aggarwal, spoke to the students about the corporate community and its commitment to society and ushered them towards social consciousness. “Pearls of wisdom” is what we would call it.
The MCEE’s, Maeen and Jalaj, set the ball rolling and invited the other guests of honor to share their views and give away the degree & diploma certificates, which the students received with radiant smiles and gratitude.
The evening gave way to the beautiful moonlit night, and one looked up to the sky like a zombie under the chant of a witch, the noise on the ground shook everyone’s soul. Music adds a special flavor to any event and this was no exception. The evergreen Indi pop band “Silk Route” took on and the not so young, swayed to hit numbers – dooba dooba and boondein.
A personal favorite- the graduation photograph. The paparazzi let loose a flash frenzy as the seniors- and one could say it with great pride- let their hats fly. A moment of achievement, captured for eternity in the frozen frame of time.
Oh Food, did one forget to mention food??? There are no words to describe the pool side buffet spread …sheer bliss!!!!!!
