On 9th February 2009, was the inaugural of a new event organized by the HR Factor Club named “Zone Xplore” - The first event in IIPM wherein the second year MBA students were the hosts for the first year MBA and BBA students.

The purpose of this event was to give the students an all round exposure to unlock their potential in the various spheres of management - Finance, Human Resources, Marketing and Entrepreneurship….Zone Xplore’09 covered it all!
The event started at 9:45 am with a welcome speech from Ms. Varsha Lal Budhrani and the lighting of the “Lamp of Knowledge” by the most respectable and highly regarded Prof.R Krishnan – Dean Academics – IIPM Chennai, accompanied by Prof.S.T.Sivaram, Prof.Jimesh Gandhi, Prof.I.N.Archana, Prof.K.Karthikeyan, Prof.H.Sathyanarayan, Prof.Love kumar and Prof. S.P.Bharath Kumar.

Prof.R.Krishnan also shared a few jewels of knowledge with us, which geared up the participants as well as the coordinators to start the show with great deal of zeal and enthusiasm which ultimately made the show a grand success!

The first event was Marketing, the vital component to the prosperity of all organizations, conducted by Mr.Shaik Irfan Mohammed and Ms.Geetha Saravanan of PGP/FW/07-09/HR. This consisted of Advertising Analysis as well as Case Analysis. The winners of the event were:

2nd Prize: Ms.Reena Achma Rajan (PGP/FW/08-10/B) and Ms.Janani Ravichandran(PGP/SS/08-10/B)

1st Prize: Mr.G.Ajay(PGP/SS/08-10/B), Mr.S.Ramaswamy(PGP/SS/08-10/A) and Mr. Shravan Patel (UGP/08-11)

The next event was in the field of Finance - the science of the management of money and other assets… Makes the world go 'round & round! – Stock War, conducted by Mr. Sudhansu Mohan Garnayak from PGP FW/07-09/HR, Mr.M.Mithileash & Ms. Varsha Lal Budhrani from PGP/FW/07-09 /Finance. The winners of the event were:

1st Prize:Mr.A. Lokamitra and Mr.Muavia mohamed from UGP/08-11
2nd Prize: Mr.K.Mayur Bhattad and Mr.S.Vivek from PGP/FW/08-10/B

The next event was about Human Resources Management – the art of providing significant support and advice to the line management with regard to attraction, preservation and development of high caliber people, conducted by Ms. Maya Abraham and Ms.K.Surekha. The winner of the event was:

Ms.Reena Achma Rajan – Named the “Best HR Planner”

Last, but not the least was Entrepreneurship – the key driver of our economy, conducted by Mr.Sudeep Ranjan Mishra, Ms.Jayashree and Mr.K.C.Dinesh. The winners of the event were:

The other ‘behind the scene’ coordinators were Mr. Amit K.Jain , Mr.Prabhu Parthiban, Ms.M.Sindhu and Mr.Sakthi Ananth without whose contribution, the event wouln’t be as successful as it was.
Assistance as well as guidance was received from Prof.K.Kartikeyan, Prof.S.P.Bharath Kumar, Prof.H.Satyanarayanan and Prof.Ranjan Sen of the Administration and Academics Department – Right from the planning stage, till the final execution.
Towards the end of the event we had a special talk from Dr.Vijay Kumar Jayraman who is currently a visiting faculty at IIPM and was our special guest for the day. He enlightened the audience with his inspiring talk and also gave away the special prizes we had in stock for all the lucky winners.
The event ended at 2:00 p.m. with a BIG smile from all the event coordinators and our special guest on the successful closure of the occasion.
