IIPM Chennai Industry Visits |

Venue: Whirlpool
Participants: PGP/FW/08-10
Industrial visits are an integral part of the campus program and this time the students had the opportunity to witness the product manufacture setup of ‘Whirlpool’ which was located at Thirubhuvanai -Pondicherry, on the outskirts of Chennai.
The batch comprised of 27 students along with 2 faculty members who paid a visit to the same, the main emphasis of the Industrial tour focusing entirely on the Washing Machine segment. The batch was again split into 2 subset batches accompanied by a faculty in both teams.
The visit started of with various analysts & experts from Whirlpool, explaining to the students, the setup of the basic raw materials and how they undergo various physical processes and machinery usage and are thus converted into washing machines.
Furthermore the visit lasted for an hour, but the knowledge that that students gained will last for lifetime.

It was a quite refreshing sweet 16, Saturday morning 2008, for the IIPMites as they really started to “Eat healthy and think better”…well it was an Industrial visit, with a difference and this time the venue was at Britannia. The student batch comprising of 50 accompanied by 2 faculty members had a great deal of time if not for the visit but also a tinch of nourishment to add to the learning flavor!!! They not only had a chance to witness the entire biscuit baking picture in reality, ranging from mixture of the raw content till the packaging and development but also a chance to chomp through variety of delicacies which were all the more fresh to digest both in learning and satisfaction. Overall it was indeed an overwhelming visit which started with a MASKA CHASKA with a lot of SWEET HEARTS on the way and ended up with a GOOD DAY quite VITA GOLD in nature!!! |

Visit to Ford Motors India:
80 students from the batch of PGP/FW/06-08 got an excellent opportunity to visit the Ford Motors India on 7th and 8th of February, 2007. It was an enriching experience for all the students when they saw functioning of a giant organization like Ford Motors and how tough it is to manage.
Visit to American Resource Centre:
Students of UGP/06-09 got to interact with Uncle Sam in his province in Chennai. Well, they have been to the American Resource Centre in the American Embassy in Chennai. For more than 2 hours students were having a look over the various resource materials kept in the library. They enjoyed management videos and other knowledge building instruments placed there. |
