IIPM CHENNAI Vibgyor

The bright and talented budding managers of the undergraduate program of IIPM Chennai hosted a one day extra curricular competitive extravaganza for school students belonging to class 11th and 12th on October 9, 2009. The IIPM fraternity believes in the circle of learning. To create a positive approach for these excited young minds and to encourage the potential within to excel, this event was envisaged to give them exposure to a rainbow of programs, hence the apt title Vibgyor. The show kicked off with the ‘welcome note’ by Ms.Vidya Banerjee, Event Coordinator followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony. The ball kept rolling with one interesting foray after another from JAM to Collage to Debate to Ad zap and finally Quiz.

This intellectually stimulating feast titled Vibgyor 2009 witnessed 110 students from different city-schools of Chennai appreciating competition in the right spirit. These enterprising school-goers bustled into the IIPM campus in excitement and before lunch the crowd had started to swell. The schools that participated this year are Sacred Heart Church Park, Asan Memorial, Lady Andal, PSBB Sr.Sec School, Angel Matriculation School, Gill Adarsh Matriculation, Sishya School and Valliammal Mat.Hr.Sec. School. Lots of exciting prizes including an overall rolling trophy were won by the young achievers during the day. Sacred Heart, Church Park & P.S.B.B Mat.Hr.Sec.School jointly grabbed the honor of the Overall Champ for the event.

The valedictory function was beautified with the grand presence of Mr.Gibran, the acclaimed guest of honour for the day. Mr.Gibran, who has been associated with SS Music Channel as a VJ for 3 Years, is a true theatre person and has been into theatres for past 6 Years. He is currently into films and his first film will come to the limelight by the end of this year.

The student activity got great support from the corporate world. These included sponsors like Nokia Concept Store, Indian Terrain, Amit Roadways Pvt.Ltd, Vodafone, Virgin Mobile & Naturals. There were surprise gifts in kind offered by Vodafone & Naturals.

Keeping to the true tune of the event, Vibgyor 2009 has also been an ice breaker and a path provider for school students to get a whiff of the business school.

Let your Thoughts fly high…
VIBGYOR- ’07- the most awaited event for the 11th and 12th standards, witnessed 150 students from the city schools of Chennai. The initiative has been taken by IIPM UG students (Indian Institute of Planning and Management) whose sequel was conducted on the 17th of August 2007. The event served as right way for the school kids to come off their cocoons and explore the various opportunities in the wide spectrum of the world.

The IIPM hosted events like Ad zap, Collage, JAM, Quiz etc., for the students, as well as created an opportunity to speak to the professionals passed out of a B-school. The overall champs are awarded with a rolling trophy.

However VIBGYOR creates a positive approach for these excited young minds and to sustain their sporty spirit. This event is obvious to give the young achievers an exposure to varied programmes which will nurture their skills and foster a sense of personal worth and independence.
