Aagman as they call “The Arrival” marks a day of celebration when fresh and new blood is formally inducted into the IIPM (The Indian Institute of Planning & Management) family. What makes Aagman so special is the fact that it is a stage where the students get an opportunity to showcase their talent before Faculty members and seniors. Also the efforts and hard work put in by students, coordinators and guides make this event memorable.
Missing classes for practices, walking into the institute with guitars and drums, students practicing dances in the cafeteria, auditorium and lobby charge up the atmosphere. Practices often start early and get over late and if you think Sunday is a day to rest, you have to visit any IIPM campus during Aagman preparations and you would be proved wrong.
The Aagman for Fall Winter/2006-2008, New Delhi was held on the 09th November’06 at the Siri Fort Auditorium in Khel Gaon, New Delhi. Although the function was scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm but the auditorium was buzzing with the activities since morning. All the participants had an opportunity to rehearse and know what it is like up being up on this grand stage.
After a traditional beginning to the event, the night kicked off with the mind boggling performances by the Coreo Team and the IIPM band that rocked the audience and made sure that not a single soul was seated. The Planman Surprise of the evening was Prof. Andy V who was flown into Delhi from Bangalore especially for the musical crescendo rocked the evening with songs like “We will rock you”, “ Knocking’ on Heavens Door” and “Stand By me”
The final event of the day was the fashion show. Students walking the ramp with colorful and elegantly designed clothes left the audience spell bound. The main Highlight if the Fashion show was the performance by the “SHAKA LAKA” group who mesmerized the audience. The evening ended around 9.30 pm and the students and faculty members walked into the hall for dinner. |
