Amaze 2007

If you thought Management students did not know how to have fun, think again! AMAZE ’07’, a Management Meet hosted by IIPM Hyderabad over the 20th and 21st December saw students from business schools around the city getting together to do just that.

Participants with a scholarly bend of mind got a chance to test their caliber against each other in a series of management related contests like  (Quiz), Mock Stock, Devil’s Advocate (Ad Zap) and World War 3 (Debate) while those wanting a break from all things academic could pit their skills and brawn in more light hearted encounters like Baithe Baithe Kya Kare (Antakeshari), RJ Hunt , tug Of war and for those who chose to display their mettle in a whole different arena, Rampede (The Fashion Show), Jhum (The Dance Competition) and a battle for the title of Mr. & Ms. AMAZE were worthy tests of flair and talent. And finally, the piece de resistance, a live performance by AASMA and DJ SIDHU out in the open at Sanjeeviak park ; after all, nothing soothes the youth and rejuvenates his spirit like music and a chance to dance!

It was a rocking event from start to finish as the normally serious and hard-at-work management students out their academic commitments on hold for a while to interact, network and have some fun with their peers. It was an event with a difference and as the AMAZE tagline goes, Everything else just had to wait!

It was an evening dazzling in splendor as the teams cat-walked for Rampede – the Fashion Show, boogied during Jhum – The Dance Competition, and finally flaunted their wit and looks in a bid to bag the crowns of Mr. & Ms. AMAZE.
To vie with the stars overhead were the celebrities Mr. Raja a renowned film actor & model in the state of A.P who was our chief guest for the show. Mr. G. Sairajan who is the senior faculty at NABARD was also a part of guests. Colleges tried to outperform during the Choreography and Fashion Show, at the same time was tested the mettle of the winners and contenders for the title of Mr. & Ms. AMAZE.  Solo dance was in a huge demand and various colleges demonstrating their talent to the world out side not in a competitive mind set but, to add more light to the show.

The fest attracted massive participation of prominent students from all over the city such as ICFAI, St. Francis, IPE, Bhavans, ICBM, St.Joseph, IIIT, Avanthi College, Villa Marie and so on.

To add more “17 India” an international magazine received an overwhelming response from the students, who actively took part for photographic session for the cover page of their magazine. The students were given gifts by Mr. Kushal, fashion Editor (Mumbai) as a token of appreciation from “17 India  Magazine”.

This event would not have been successful without the partnership of Andhra Bank, State Bank of Hyderabad, Reliance Infocomm, Club Mahindra, Mangtrai Jewelers, and Mussadilal Jewelers

The prize distribution ceremony brought down the curtains on AMAZE ‘05-’06 and the event stood out purely for its felicitous mix of fun, entertainment and some skill testing among the future managers. Amaze winded up with lots of dreams in the eyes of the future MBAs with a zest to rise high, with more such celebrations to come. The twilight was a great success its au revoir till next year.
