"Here's to the bright New Year
And a fond farewell to the old;
Here's to the things that are yet to come
And to the memories that we hold."

Happy New Year! Everyone likes to celebrate the New Year and kids are no exception!!!! There's inspiration for games and decorations, for midnight madness and quiet reflection, and for fitting in a full dose of fun without losing sleep.  It was a great experience for IIPM Hyderabad to celebrate the New Year with orphanage - St. Mother Teresa’s Home for Love. The children between the age group of 6 to 7 years were given a chance to identify their own talent, creativity and originality and there by portray them as better individuals into the light of this beautiful world.

The day embarked with a welcome note from our honorary Dean Prof. Amit Baruah followed by Sister Maria. The children joined them on stage by singing songs and dancing. They were also involved in events like musical chairs, singing and group dance. Zenith of their delightment was when a few among them were asked to cut the cake and more so they enjoyed the chocolates through out the day.

They were thrilled to meet Mr. Rahul who played a lead role in HAPPY DAYS movie as the chief guest. To our surprise few of  these children were Tsunami effected and were bought to the orphanage when they were 1 year old.

The Programme concluded with giving away gifts from The GIDF Club.

Independence Day
"Freedom Through Construction Marathon"

14th August 2007

"Freedom Through Construction Marathon" organized by "BHUMI", an NGO which is nascent to the society but nevertheless strong in its resolve and zeal. This provided us a unique opportunity to give something back to our mother land. The idea behind the "freedom through construction" was to construct the dilapidated government high school of Rasoolpura near Begumpet.

"There are no problems - only opportunities to be creative."
Dorye Roettger

Developing an innovative spirit in the campus doesn't require extraordinary measures. As a student, one can experiment with simple ideas that merely break routines, allowing everyone to drop the facade that we all don to some degree when we punch the clock.
Inherent within the human spirit is the desire for fulfillment, a longing to carry out their creative aspirations by reaching new heights of accomplishment.
IIPM Hyderabad joined hands with BIG 92.7 FM campaign called “Big Fresher’s 2007” which was conducted on 08th August, 2007. The activity lasted for 2 to 3 hours on the basis of the 4 rounds mentioned below.

  1. Introduction round – some key words would be given to the participants for which they have to make a story using those words and say within 30 sec.
  2. Expression Round – Tag lines would be given for the participants and they have to put the expression on which they will be screened and short listed.
  3. Slow Biking Round - Females & Males – parallel lines will be drawn and participants have to drive on that particular line. Distance would be 10 FT approx.
Participants will be screened on their presentation.

Don’t get into a TRAP
Action without thought is like shooting without aim’
Quite recently, I had a bunch of young enthusiasts who walked in to my office, cheeky smiles wanting to tell me that they were eager to do something BIG. Obviously, I responded saying “What? When? How? And most importantly Why? If anyone fears getting into a Trap of big ideas and zero plans then it is the leader himself, something I did not destine to be.

So as we ideated as a team we realized that “anything BIG” has no meaning till it serves an important purpose. The Purpose has to be BIG and that is what makes your idea, your initiative and your event BIG.

Having crossed this first mental roadblock is when we decided that the biggest road block is the very situation on our roads today and from there stemmed our BIG idea of the TRAP - Traffic Awareness Program composed by a crazy composition of our new IIPM recruits along with BBA students in aid of GID Club, calling themselves SODIUM. Brilliantly planned, wonderfully executed, they did not get trapped and finally did something BIG!!!!.....some snapshots…….The idea soon started taking shape in terms of associating with Traffic Police. Mr.Punna Rao, Traffic Commisioner of Hyderabad came forward to support the activity. The activity kicked on 30-Apr-2007 near the traffic control room. The awareness program was an instant hit with 92.7 Big FM supporting the activity via continuous announcements and interviewing our honorable Dean Prof. Amit Baruah and Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Kripanand Triapthi. TRAP went on for one week, during which we targeted most of the busy circles in Hyderabad.

It was not only the youth, but also the young children from the age group of 6-11 years from school to orphanage. They supported the event by taking part into various quiz activities followed by a painting competition. Orchids International School, Pearls of Hyderabad (Summer Camp), FORUM - orphanage for street children were a few to be part of the noble cause.

It was student’s observation that all the traffic violations happen due to the chemicals present in our body & mind which control our senses and therefore Chemical - Locha was ideated, a party to celebrate the awareness spread throughout the week. International DJ, DJ NYK was invited to perform along with famous DJ’s like DJ Lil B, DJ R, DJ Ajay & DJ Seks at Treasure Island on 05-May-2007. The party went amazing and lasted till 4:00 am in the morning & once again IIPMites proved ‘When the going gets tough the tough gets going’.

CHILDREN’S DAY 2006 – AT IIPM, HYDERABAD

Life’s Aspirations come in the guise of children.

On the eve of the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, a unique platform was given to the orphanage (FORUM) where children between the age group of 6 and 16 years were given a chance to identify their own talent, creativity and originality and there by portray them as better individuals into the light of this beautiful world.

The day embarked with a welcome note from the management. The children joined them on stage by singing songs and dancing. They were also involved in events like musical chairs, antakshari and group dance. Zenith of their delightment was when a few among them were asked to cut the cake and more so they enjoyed the chocolates through out the day. Adding to our delight, it was good to see that the children were very disciplined like they started their lunch with a prayer, kept their surroundings very clean and tidy which we rarely see in today’s growing children of the same age as theirs.

They were thrilled to watch the movie Jai Hanuman and the tales of Panchatantra during the other half of the day and the Programme concluded with giving away gifts from The GIDF Club on behalf of Malik Cars (a franchisee of TATA Motors) who were one of the privileged donors.

The seminar conducted by GIDF Club of IIPM Hyderabad is just a beginning to the new era of responsiveness which can make a considerable impact in achieving our primary objective of Child Awareness, provided we stop talking and give a considerable amount of effort in materializing what we talk.

In further we have lined up few more events with FORUM and its likes, so keep watching this page from movement called IIPM – GIDF Hyderabad.

With an aim to create social awareness among the students, GIDF in association with the Chiranjeevi Eye and Blood Bank conducted a Blood Donation Camp at the campus on 30th July, 2005.

Mr. N. Sanjay, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) and famous tollywood star Mr. Allu Arjun was the chief guest for this social cause.

Mr. N. Sanjay stressed on the importance of Physical exercise along with the routine study to get rid of the mental and physical fatigue which in today’s date, students ignore. He insisted more and more institutes to get students involved in social activities so that "The Social Service" motto is imbedded by them. "The management students who will be tomorrow’s corporate heads have a greater responsibility towards the society" he said.

Mr. Allu Arjun briefed the students how the blood donated, saves lives of many people. He also congratulated the students for actively taking up the initiative to donate blood and for this occasion.

There was an active participation from the student’s side. The blood donation camp was an eye opener, which made them realize that they can also contribute towards the welfare of the society even in small ways and make a big difference. Students were also inspired to see the active participation from the Dean, Asst. Dean and from the staff of both IIPM and Planman. Receiving a token of appreciation from Mr. N. Sanjay, the Deputy Commissioner of Police and
famous tollywood star Mr. Allu Arjun, not only boosted up their spirits. They are eagerly awaiting for the next initiative from the GIDF club to happen so they can extend it to teaching fraternity and also involve corporates as well.
