The city's showcase to the world, the first edition of the IIPM Hyderabad Marathon-2004.
Its magic, which was infectious, captured the imagination of the Hyderabad and spread throughout the city like wildfire. The marathon started from Eat Street-Necklace Road to Charminar and back. The traffic was under control at this junction. Drivers, stopped by the number of runners on the road, gave impromptu directions to the runners. The 10k’ers ran for a social cause, to contribute to the have-nots. Registration fee was charged and donated to the orphanages and old age homes.

IIPMites ran with joy and a sense of participation, sometimes runners go off-course without being pushed.

By the end of the race, every tag was blank they were literally swept off their feet by the increased fervor and enthusiasm of one and all.
