July 04, 2006: It was a bright sunny day and the mood was upbeat among the students of PGP/SS/2006-08. After the morning classes they all assembled, with whole hearted enthusiasm to participate in the management game session, named “Kaleidoscope”; organized by “The Human Factor”, the HR club of IIPM Hyderabad.

The session started with “Devil’s Island”, with students moving around circles of rope on the floor, and getting into the circles as and when the music stopped playing. With the ropes getting narrow and disappearing, it was real fun to see students almost hugging each other to keep balance, and sometimes even pushing others out for space. It consisted of collaboration, economic resource management and taught how to build team spirit.

The group musical chair , named “kebab me haddi” , where students participated in pairs, with individuals interfering in between; to spoil their way, was really entertaining. A new innovative game devised by the club this time, saw a lot of dilemma, and gave few critical lessons on ethical decision making. Students found it hard to trade off between either getting out of the game or sacrificing their partner to form new pairs with the interferers.

The well known “minefield” game was as usual the most happening game, with blindfolded prisoners following instructions. With loud cheers and shouts ripping the air, it provided the students an opportunity to test their communication and leadership skills.

The treasure hunting exercise , “khazane ke khoj me”, was a breath taking game as the groups fought against time to move from one clue to the next, right from the terrace to the basement canteen. The clues were interesting, like “men in blue” signifying the canteen staff, while “project over your head at 6” meaning the OHP in classroom 6.

The last game was more of relaxation with group representatives acting out an ad punch line from a chit; for their group mates to guess, the brand. Titled “bolna mana hai”, this game of clue acting was perfect refreshment which helped students to also revive a few memories.

In the end the winners were handed over prizes in the form of a jumbo size “Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Chocolate” each, which made the evening as sweet as ever.

Report on HR Management Game

15th of July 2005 was a kaleidoscopic day at IIPM, Hyderabad. The Human Factor Club organized "KALEDIOSCOPE", a fun and innovative HR event with management games like space jam, magic steps and feed back theatre.

The event was a two hours long session and received an overwhelming response from students and faculty alike, with all appreciating the superb efforts put in by the hr club team.

This was one of the best of the HR events organized by the fresh and the growing talents (spring summer batch/2005-07) of IIPM Hyderabad. It was quiet a successful event in bringing out the latent talents of the participants apart from being an ice-breaking session between the faculty and the students.
