The IIPM Mumbai campus displayed huge amount enthusiasm during the first ever volley ball tournament organized in campus on 3rd of April 2008. Teams from various sections across batches participated to win the best team title.

Soccer League 2008
Date: 26th- 30th March 2008
Venue: Supari Talao Ground

The torque club of IIPM, Mumbai organized the Soccer league 2008 from the 26th of March to 30th of March 2008. All the sections participated in this tournament to win the trophies that were to be awarded to the best team. The sections of PGP 07-09)/ FW B1 and B3 were the finalists and section B1 won the tournament with a score of 1-0.

Table Tennis League 08-09
Date: 25th February 2008
Venue: IIPM Tower I, Khar (West)

Some kind of change and physical fitness is needed for students after the rigorous class schedules and mental exercise. This time it was Table Tennis League Singles for all IIPM students. Many students from various batches participated in this event.

The event started on 25th Feb 2008 with an environment of enthusiasm. As the energy levels increased and all the participants were ready to swing, they formulated various strategies in order to defend themselves and rise up as a winner all through out. This event was very engaging for the participants as well as the viewers as everyone was engrossed in the game. Event was started with knockout round. Among all the participants Sahheil Borrah from PGP 02-09 FW and Ankeet Shetty from PGP 06-08 FW were amongst the finalist. Ankeet Shetty beat Sahheil Borrah by 4 points and claimed the Title of Table Tennis League 08-09 Singles under his name.

Intra-Collegiate Billiards Competition
Date: 3rd august 2007
Venue: renaissance club, versova

The torque club of IIPM, Mumbai had organized an intra-collegiate Billiards Competition on the 3rd of August 2007.

This mega event began with Tea and snacks at the Renaissance Club, Versova after which the Billiards competition began. Enthusiastic students participated and cheered fellow mates at the competition.

The winners were awarded with cash prize of Rs. 3000/-, Rs. 2000/- and Rs. 1000/- and a trophy.

Soccer League 2007
Date: 18th August - 21st August 2007
Venue: Supari Talao Ground

The Torque Club of IIPM Mumbai organized the Intra-Collegiate Soccer Tournament from the 18th of July to 21st of July 2007.

The final game was played by A3 of the batch PGP (07-09)/ SS & HS1 of the batch of PGP (06-08)/ SS. The tournament was won by section HS1 who then played a friendly match against the IIPM -Planman team. This entertaining match also witnessed the presence of Mr. Yash Pandit as a star player in the IIPM-Planman Team.

The tournament ended with the prize distribution ceremony wherein the winning team was awarded with trophies and cash prize.

The Torque club of IIPM, Mumbai had organized an Intra-collegiate Badminton tournament on 30th July, 2007. Students across all the sections participated.

Bowling Competiton

Venue: The Club, Andheri West

An intra-class bowling competition was organized on 24th June 2007 at “THE CLUB”, Andheri West. Students from all sections and batches enjoyed the game and competed with each other for the top three positions. The first three winners were awarded with the sum of Rs. 3000/-; Rs. 2000/- and Rs. 1000/- respectively. Mr. Shouvick Dutta encouraged the students with his presence and also felicitated the winners with cash prize, box of chocolates and a bouquet.

The torque club of IIPM, Mumbai organized an Intra- Collegiate Carrom Tournament. This two day tournament witnessed participation from all batches for both categories- Singles as well as Doubles.

Go-Karting Competition
DATE: 16th October 2006

The Indian Institute of Planning and Management, Mumbai strikes again, this time with an Inter-collegiate Go-Karting competition at Hiranandani, Powai. This Competition, organized on 16th of October, was initiated and managed by a team of budding entrepreneurs of PGP (06-08)/ FW. Over 200 students from other colleges like Welinkars, Chetna , H. R., National, MMK, Dhanukar, St. Andrews etc participated.

Not to be deterred by an unusually hot October sun the managers of tomorrow loosened their ties and rolled their cuffs to compete in a different arena. The excitement increased as the competition heated up. The participants burned the rubber in their bid for supremacy and dared to challenge the speed barrier.The highlight of the event was the active participation by girls who defied the rising mercury levels and matched steps for steps with boys. In the end it was a nail biting finish and Mr. Samyak (St. Andrews) emerged as the fastest and steadiest of all with a best lap time of 29.14 seconds. He was awarded with Rs. 2000/- cash prize for the same. Over all it was a euphoric experience and a well deserved break from the academics.

The War of Strength at its peak

Arm Wrestling Championship 2006

IIPM, Mumbai was holding out for a champion. It was a remarkable day on 21st February when Arm Wrestling Championship ’06 was held wherein students, both guys and girls had participated. Three rounds were conducted (guys’ v/s guys & girls’ v/s girls).Towards the end of the contest students were drenching in sweat trying to prove their potential and it was obviously a hard-hitting competition. The championship trophy was won by Ravi Kulkarni of UGP (04-07) & Jyotsna of PGP (04-06)/FW.

The cricket season is hot in Mumbai and so was the competition amongst the various classes for the Aurobindo Memorial Cricket Tournament ’06. The tournament was organized from the 5th to 14th of February at the Oval Ground. This knock out tournament highlighted the talents in IIPM, Mumbai and enabled the crafting of fine cricketers.

Section B2 of PGP (05-07)/ FW were the shining stars of the tournament and got their Section engraved on the rolling shield of IIPM, Mumbai.

IIPM Mumbai V/S IIPM Pune- Annual Cricket Tie
Date: 13th February 2006
Venue: Oval Ground, Churchgate

The Torque club of IIPM Mumbai successfully organized a cricket match between IIPM Mumbai and IIPM Pune on the 13th of February at the Oval Ground, Churchgate. This match began with loads of excitement and competition but at the same time it displayed the true spirit of IIPMites which reflects that irrespective of which centre the student comes from he is first a student of "IIPM".

The match began with Mr. Shouvick Dutta wishing both the teams’ good luck and mentioning that which ever team wins today- it is an IIPM team. These words worked wonders on the players and the captains moved towards the pitch for the toss. The Pune team won the toss and elected to bat the 25 overs first. Naman Jain from Mumbai bagged 2 wickets and Kaushik from Pune team smashed 50 runs and played a key role in enabling the Pune team to score of 186/9. After this excellent display of talent the Mumbai team came up to face the challenge. In spite of a strong batting line up the Mumbai team could put up a score of 110 all out.

This thrilling match ended with the rolling trophy being awarded to the Pune team and each player left the ground with the feeling of oneness as they promised to take this relationship further year after year making this initiative an annual event.

The Torque club organized the soccer league. The Soccer league ended with a bang as the students team played against the IIPM/ Planman team in the Finals. The teams and audience enjoyed the match as IIPM/ Planman team gave the students a tough time on the field. PGP (05-07)/ SS batch were the winners of the Soccer League 2005

Tug of War
Date: 9th March 2005
Venue: IIPM, Mumbai

This Tug of War organized by the Torque club of IIPM, Mumbai was with a difference. It involved had core marketing activities prior to the event. All the sections promoted their sections and had a cheer leading team to cheer the team members while the matches were being conducted. The campus was filled with energy, colors and strength. As each team tried to pull the other, ultimately the batch of PGP (03-05)/ FW pulled it off. However, the idea was to build team spirit and add some fun to the daily schedules.

To refresh moods and let go the pent up energy the Torque Club organized the Soccer Tournament. Each section practiced hard to perform well on the day! The league tournament gave each section a fair chance to prove their potential.
