AAGMAN 2006- CELEBRATING THE SPIRIT OF FREEDOM
AAGMAN as the name suggests means welcome, and the AAGMAN witnessed by the spring summer 06-08 batch was certainly grand, it was refreshing to see batch mates dressed in Indian attires after all the theme this year was Independence Day, each act performed at the event was unique in its own way. The first event was the Saraswati vandana a dance performance by Mayuri Gawas. The grace, the expressions, the timing was a delight it was a perfect start and set the base right.

It was now time to get a little pensive, probably a trip down memory lane, time to hum soft melodies with the IIPM band as they transferred you to another world with their music. It was a warm up session with classics like pal, who lamhe to name a few, it felt like the silence before the storm. The storm- the fashion show... it was now that the heat was catching on. Their performance on the track ‘Tere ishq mein” was awesome and made each one present want to fall in love AAGMAN 2006 was building on. Then came the electrifying group dance performance- the energy ,enthusiasm executed was of a high magnitude and the audience was fully khallas as the troupe danced brilliantly to the beats of ‘khallas and chor chor”. It was time to watch the making of Mahabharata, a brilliant concept which was well executed on stage- great performances, in fact bold performances which left the audience in a spilt.

This 10 minute skit was extremely well done. Aagman witnessed the musical “Teen khiladi ek bhikari” a laugh story, the rib tickling comedy was extremely lovable. The dances performed, the characters enacted rocked the stage a spoof on the famous Dil chata hai with a twist and a hilarious climax had the audience giggling away to glory. The fashion show was with rugged look, the right kind of attitude, an awesome attire to match the dehati style had everyone going gaga their hypnotic act on “Bedi jalyi le” from the recent “Omkara’. It was now time for something humongous it was the band once again and this time round they, the energy of each artist from the drummer, to the guitarists, to the vocalist was infectious. Their performance on ‘Adaat and bandhe’ was simply outstanding, the perfect ending to a mind blowing show.
