THE SHAKESPEAREAN TREASURE HUNT WITH DIWALI & EID CELEBRATIONS
DATE: 23th October 2006
VENUE: IIPM Mumbai
The Indian Institute of Planning & Management, Mumbai hosted a Treasure Hunt competition on the 23rd October, 2006 at the IIPM, Mumbai campus at Bandra.
This “Modern Shakespearean Treasure Hunt” witnessed students discovering all the hot and happening places of Bandra in merely 2 hours. The competition began with a celebration of the two big festivals- Diwali & Eid. The campus was decorated with Flowers, Lights and Diyas. To add some color to this event a Rangoli competition was organized to highlight the creative side of the young management students. Students were also given an opportunity to make some money by putting up game stalls to enjoy this festive season. One of the stall was occupied by a talented, young, deaf & dumb tattoo artist who designed tattoos on this special occasion. While the others played games and made tattoos the treasure hunt teams began the hunt as they were given their first clue. After the 2 hour long hunt came to an end, the Soul of Sufism- Mr. Kailash Kher honored the occasion with his presence at the IIPM, Mumbai campus. The crowd hummed to the tunes of ‘Teri Diwani’ & 'Subhan Allah' as this legend sang a few lines. He also gave away personalized autographed CD’s along with prizes in cash and gift Vouchers to the winners of Rangoli Competition and the Treasure Hunt. It was truly amazing experience for one and all present in the campus as this day IIPM; Mumbai celebrated the two festivals with games, colors of Rangoli, light of Diya and music of Sufism. The menu at the IIPM canteen added flavor to the festivity by preparations like Chole Bhature, Biryani, Gulab Jamun & Kheer.
