Every year across India Independence day is celebrated with speeches for a better tomorrow. The Indian Institute of Planning and Management Mumbai truly believes that actions speak louder than words and they decided to celebrate Independence Day by extending a helping hand for the underprivileged children of the Great Indian Dream Foundation Community School (GIDF).
The day was filled with excitement as the IIPM Mumbai student's decorated the campus with balloons and posters for their visiting tiny tot friends. The GIDF school children were first shown a colorful pictorial exhibition of Indian freedom fighters. They were explained the history of India and the freedom struggle. The children then had a fun filled session with a live musical and dance performance by the IIPM students followed by some fun games. The IIPM students, staff and other Planman employees were allowed to purchase products made by GIDF students at the exhibition put up in the campus. The proceeds would be then given to GIDF.
All the excitement had their tummy rumbling; hence the sumptuous lunch that followed was appreciated by all. After lunch the students were shown the movie "Hanuman”. It was truly a day filled with fun and learning and a memorable sharing experience for both the GIDF and IIPM Students.
