Ask Sumit Raina, what made him join the MBA programme 2000-2002
at The Indian Institute of Planning & Management (IIPM) and
pat comes the reply, "The course structure at IIPM is far
better than other Business Schools in India." Today, Raina
has been recruited by LG Electronics as a management trainee at
the highest IIPM campus placements salary.
So what puts the MBA programme at IIPM in a different league?
According to the Dean, Center for Advanced Consulting &
Research, IIPM, Professor A. Sandeep, "The whole concept
behind the MBA programme is to focus on national economic planning
with special emphasis on macro-economic and business planning,
marketing, finance and accounting techniques."
IIPM offers a three year BBA (Bachelors of Business
Administration) programme for 10 + 2 students. IIPM has a faculty
& students exchange programme with International Management
Institute, Belgium. Moreover, IIPM students have to undergo a 10

European, Asian and Australian continents.
Here the students are taught a special paper on Global
Opportunities & Threats Analysis (GOTA), which makes students
aware of how global economies work. This brings a fresh outlook to
life conducive to entrepreneurial learning. Students are exposed
to case study methodology, industry projects, corporate project
trimester etc during their study programme.
When asked why MBA aspirants should go for IIPM, Professor
Sandeep remarked, "It is because IIPM focuses on academic as
well as future career growth. Only a few institutes in the country
have this to offer. The extent of economic value development that
we provide to students at national and international levels is
unequalled by any other business schools. Our focus is on academic
development at a global level."
However, the icing on the cake has proved to be the 100 per
cent placements of the class of 2000-2002. Concluded Professor
Sandeep, "The average salary this year has been Rs. 2.2 lakh
per annum with companies like PricewaterhouseCoopers, McKinsey,
Coca Cola, ITC, Asian Paints, Electrolux vying with each other for
the students...
