The GID Club has the objective of making India developed in health, education and employment by the year 2025. This will happen only when growth and development is targeted more importantly for the bottom 80% of India's population; thus the club aspires to strengthen the Indian economy from its roots by making the weaker section of the society more educated, aware, healthy and employable.

IIPM Chandigarh organizes a Blood Donation Camp

IIPM Chandigarh organized a blood donation camp in the campus on 15th March. Both the Students and faculty actively participated and donated blood. For the camp IIPM had coordinated with a team of Doctors that came from Silver oak hospital. Those who donated the blood were given refreshments. Silver oak also provided the students with a privilege card and blood donation certificates.

IIPM Chandigarh conducts a Child Labour Awareness Programme

IIPM Chandigarh tried to raise awareness about child labor. The Programme started at 9’o clock in the morning and the target was mainly the surrounding rural areas. The team comprised of students who went to each and every household in all the villages visited. Children were taught about the benefits of studying and on the same side parents were taught about law which denotes that child labor is illegal. Different activities were performed and books and eatables in the form of gifts were also given.

IIPM Chandigarh conducted a session on social marketing in GIDF week. In the session students were told about company social responsibilities and how responsible citizens should pay back to society. The session was taken by Mr. R.k Gupta from Haryana State Industrial and infrastructure Development Corps. Ltd. He told the students that Social marketing is the systematic application of marketing, along with other concepts and techniques, to achieve specific behavioral goals for a social good. Social marketing can be applied to promote merit goods, or to make a society avoid demerit goods and thus to promote society's well being as a whole. For example, this may include asking people not to smoke in public areas, asking them to use seat belts, or prompting to make them follow speed limits.

IIPM Chandigarh conducts a session on recycle the things by Prof. Amrit Bhalla

IIPM Chandigarh organized a session where students were taught how to recycle the things and use them in the best way and in eco friendly manner. The session was taken by Prof. Amrit Bhalla from Bangalore. Students of batch Fa1, Fa2 and Sa1 attended the session and learned lots of techniques to recycle the things in beautiful manner. After learning, students had made effort to recycle the useless things in the campus and had made beautiful dustbins and other decorative material.

GIDF Week at IIPM Chandigarh

Date: 24th September Venue: IIPM Chandigarh Day 1 IIPM Chandigarh conducted a session on corporate social responsibility at GIDF week on day 1. In the session students were told about companies social responsibilities and how responsible citizens should pay back to society. The session was taken by Mr. Nishant Mahajan, who is a Branch Head of Reliance Capital Asset Management Ltd. He told the student that it is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business mode. It is basically to develop the Overall Personality of Management students with focus on interpersonal skills and preparing them to succeed the challenges of the corporate world along with other concepts and techniques. Another point was how to achieve specific behavioral goals for a social good and how economic system will collapse if people do not pay back to the society what they take from it. Day 2 Date: 25th September Venue: IIPM Chandigarh On the 2nd day of GIDF week, IIPM Chandigarh had an event which begun with registrations of students for the movie “I AM KALAM” and we had lots of entries. Students were very enthusiastic and synergized in their involvement in the movie, which is inspirational, intelligent, topical and entertaining too. More importantly, it brims over with heart and soul, leaving no one untouched with its simple message of providing an equal opportunity. At a little over 90 minutes, I Am Kalam is a gripping watch that leaves you feeling uplifted and positive. This was a good part of learning for the students as they got involved in the social cause. Day 3 Date: 26th September Venue: IIPM Chandigarh IIPM Chandigarh on the 3rd day of GIDF week organized a seminar on Child Labour. This seminar was conducted by Prof. Sharan Prasher (Ex-com Faculty and Senior Manager in Operations). It started at 3o clock in the afternoon and the main focus was to spread awareness about child labor amongst the students. Students were also taught about the law which denotes that child labor is illegal. It was basically about the employment of children in any work that deprives children of their childhood, interferes with their ability to attend regular school, and that is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful. This practice is considered exploitative by many international organizations too. Legislations across the world prohibit child labour. Day 4 Date: 27th September Venue: IIPM Chandigarh IIPM Chandigarh on the 4th day of GIDF week tried to spread the awareness about child labour in a near by village named Maloya. As we all believe, that the best a person can retain in his mind is through what he sees and not listen, therefore the students decided to perform a mime on Child Labour in front of the people of the village. The team comprised of students went to each and every household in the village to invite them. Through the mine, children’s were taught about the benefits of studying and on the same side parents were also taught about law which denotes that child labor is illegal. This was a good way of learning for the students and others as it was well appreciated by everyone for a noble cause. Day 5 Date: 28th September Venue: IIPM Chandigarh IIPM Chandigarh conducted a session on women empowerment on the 5th day of GIDF week. This session was conducted by Prof. Harsh Malik . In the session students were told about companies social responsibilities and how responsible citizens should pay back to society.
