Torque (The Sports Club)

The primary idea of this club is to promote camaraderie in the batches through sports events and secondary aim is to encourage sports and games as an instrument for physical and mental agility. The club organizes competitive cricket tournaments, football matches, billiard competitions and many indoor games. Some of the major annual events of this club are the Aurobindo Chaudhuri Memorial Cricket Tournament, GOAL – the Football Tournament and the Sports Week.

IIPM Jaipur organizes a Cricket Match between students and faculty members

IIPM Jaipur hosted an ironic match between ever shining faculty members and students. This match was one of the fascinating matches ever played in the history of IIPM Jaipur. The Match was played at NBC cricket stadium Jaipur on 30th of Jan’12. It was a 20 over match with some nail biting moments and had something for everyone. Match started at 01:00 pm with the captain of Faculty members winning the toss and deciding to bat first. It was never easy for the all star students team as they lost two quick wickets in the first over without even scoring a single run. They kept on loosing wickets on the regular intervals and were all out for just 100 on the board in 18.5 over’s. Mr Muzzaffar Rahim Bhat bowled really well.

IIPM Jaipur organizes an Inter batch Billiards competition

On 31st January, 2012 Torque club of IIPM Jaipur organized inter-batch pool competition. Students were all charged up to enter the billiards room with a sense to vie with other participants. In total there were 16 participants out of which 4 entered the semi-finals. Laksh Jain, Arpit Tripathy, Someshwar Gupta, Shubham Mittal were the semi-finalist. The terrific final match between Arpit Tripathy of FW/ISBE/10-12 and Laksh Jain of FW/UGP/11-14 lasted for 13 minutes .Finally Arpit Tripathy won the title. In the end all the participants congratulated each other for their success in the game and they left the pool room with immense gratification and appreciated the time spent together.

IIPM Jaipur conducts a table tennis tournament

Bends, Curves, Movements, Spins, Smashes and a winning effervescence in your blood, was all required on Wednesday afternoon. Torque Club of IIPM Jaipur organized table tennis tournament on 18th April’ 2012. All students were commoved to participate in the tournament from the day they heard about the registration process. The game demands you to accentuate on hard work and if you take your eyes off for a jiff, means your opponent will ride on you for sure. Tournament comprised both men’s & women’s singles and doubles championship, wherein 26 students participated. Starting from knockout round till the end, student’s ebullience showed their peak performances. Mr. Yash Sharma won the men’s singles championship whereas Miss Pooja Bohra was the women’s champion. On the other hand, Mr. Yash Sharma and Rounak Agarwal won the title for the men’s doubles and Ms. Pooja Bohra and Shivani Maheshvari stood up as the women’s doubles champions

IIPM Jaipur organizes a power packed competition

The Torque club of IIPM Jaipur organized a power packed competition for the students on 30th April’12 to show their sturdy & brawny strength. Event was systematized to give a healthy break from the regular & continuous schedule and also to impart the importance of gym activities. All you need is to accentuate on fortitude not the attitude to win the competition. It was a brute competition as there were 25 participants in total. Event had 6 different activities for the participants to go through. Event started at 2:00pm and lasted for 2 long hours, after which all the participants were feeling exhausted because of the workout done by them. In the end the score calculation was done and Mr. Vijendar Singh egresses as the winner of the competition.

IIPM Jaipur conducts intra college competition -Warriors cup

Once again, the team of IIPM Jaipur showed the city that they’re as good on outdoor activities as they are indoors. The cricket team of IIPM Raiders participated in the annual championship of “Warriors Cup” this year. The championship showcases the best cricket teams of Jaipur and the greatest taste of T20 verve. This year, the competition stood witness to new additions in their top 8 teams, one of which was our very own IIPM Raiders. A great deal of zeal, enthusiasm and passion were the main ingredients that brought together our best 11. The championship held matches on a knockout basis on the T20 format. After a lot of hardships and sweat, under the captainship of Jaspal Singh, with Movin Khan and Naman Sharma as the star players, the Raiders emerged as the runners up of the series.
