Torque (The Sports Club)

The primary idea of this club is to promote camaraderie in the batches through sports events and secondary aim is to encourage sports and games as an instrument for physical and mental agility. The club organizes competitive cricket tournaments, football matches, billiard competitions and many indoor games. Some of the major annual events of this club are the Aurobindo Chaudhuri Memorial Cricket Tournament, GOAL – the Football Tournament and the Sports Week.

Power Cricket at IIPM Delhi

Torque club came up with an innovative module of the sport cricket, called Power Cricket held in the IIPM’s Satbari Campus. The competition was held in two rounds. Semi-finals were held on 16th September 2011 where the college witnessed several teams from Noida, Gurgaon and Satbari. The Finals were held in campus on the 24th September 2011. The winners were awarded with certificates of Best Team as well as an award of Man Of the Series was rewarded to the Best Player of the Season.

Water Polo Competition at IIPM Delhi

Water Polo Competition conducted by the torque club held on the 3rd September at the Swimming Pool within the IIPM campus Satbari Campus. The competition witnesses over 10 teams from IIPM Satbari, Noida and Gurgaon. The winning team was rewarded with Rs 1000 cash sponsored by Tzinga prize as while the runner ups received crates of the energy drink Tzinga.

Swimming Competition launched with TZINGA as Energy Partner at IIPM Delhi

On the 19th August the Torque Cub hosted Freaky Friday which was launched with TZINGA as the Energy partner. Over 50 students participated in the swimming competition held at the swimming pool in campus. The winners as well as the runner ups were rewarded with crates of Tzinga energy drink. Students came back with wonderful response and on public demand Freaky Friday was decided to become a weekly affair.

Table Tennis Competition at IIPM Delhi

Due to the previous success of Freaky Friday, an encore was held on the 26th August 2011. This was conducted by the torque club in the form of Table Tennis Competition held at the Cafe Coffee Day which had participants from IIPM Satbari, Noida and Gurgaon. The winners and runner ups received crates of Tzinga Energy Drink.

Volley-Ball Tournament at IIPM Delhi

At the close of September, we saw pumping adrenaline and thumping heartbeats when IIPM Satbari, Gurgaon and Noida came together to compete in the Volley-Ball Tournament. Freaky Friday, an initiative by the Torque club, hosted the tournament on 30th September which consisted of 15 Teams participated and with a great response from bystanders and audience the event was a success. Man of the match and Man of the series were awarded to the best players while each team member received a certificate of participation

Airtel Presents F1 Racing at IIPM New Delhi

As the cars gear up for the Grand Prix while the tickets are sold out, students feel the excitement and enthusiastically contribute to the fever. This is when we saw Airtel and Encompass teaming up with IIPM and Torque club to get the stones rolling. On the 20th October a prototype of the racing car along with the screen and the gimmicks stationed itself at the IIPM Back Lawns from 10 am onwards to give the students an opportunity to go to the Grand Prix and watch the race LIVE in action. More than 200 students played the game in the aspiration to win the prize. With the immense hidden talent of IIPM we are keeping our fingers crossed that someone might win and represent us at the event!!!

Freaky Friday Presents Mini Soccer at IIPM New Delhi

Efficient Utilisations of resources... Freaky Friday yet again came up with the concept of Mini Soccer held in association with the Torque Club on the 21st October in the New Delhi Campus. There were more than 10 teams battling in the knock out session of soccer where after a full day of adrenaline pumping and soaring throats the captain Saurav and his team from FU-1 emerged as the champions. As the sport, this event was also full of drama, thrill and surprises. The winners as well as the runners up were awarded certificates for the spirit they showed all through the game. All in All it was a clean game.
