IIPM Hosted a Glorious Event of Bharatiya Manavata Vikas Puraskar, 2018

The dawn of 30th Aug 2018 witnessed a glamorous award ceremony of Bhartiya Manavta Vikas Puraskar, 2018 in New Delhi organized by IIPM, one of the premier education institutes of the country, in collaboration with Power Brands. 13 Indian stalwarts from the fields of politics, entertainment, education, and business were recognized for their notable contributions towards the society and human welfare during the event. These honorable personalities included noteworthy names such as Shabana Azmi, Yuvraj Singh, Nandita Das, Uma Tuli, Flavia Agnes, Bibek Debroy, Pramila Pesargi, Anita Ahuja, Lenin Raghuvanshi, Ashutosh, Bezwada Wilson, Atul Satija, and Pravin Patkar.

Bhartiya Manavta Vikas Puraskar is a platform to honor the elite and the cream of the Indian society who have shed their sweat to bring in striking initiatives for the betterment of the society. BMVP is a joint effort from IIPM and Power Brands to recognize the contributions of such personalities towards establishing social justice, humanity, equality, human welfare. It celebrates the contribution of such people by giving them a proper platform to share with the world their beliefs and values so as to inspire many more to join in the good efforts.

One of the key driving force behind the thought and the event was Dr. Arindam Chaudhury, a prominent personality who also happens to be a well-known motivational speaker and author. This year, with IIPM in the lead, spearheaded by Dr, Arindam Chaudhury, in collaboration with Power Brands, the effort was to take this initiative to its next level. Every year, such noteworthy personalities are highlighted for their contribution in creating an equal and a better world. Leading personalities gather every year to pledge their commitment towards the cause of an equal world and make a difference in our society as well as our thinking.

Dr. Arindam Chaudhury, the honorable dean of IIPM and a prominent spokesperson, claims that such an event helps to not only highlight the best qualities of the mankind that somewhere lie dormant within us but also caters to set shining examples to the youth of the current generation. With immense contributions to the society, such personalities who belong to various walks of life have achieved a great deal and stand as an excellent example to all of us. With Bhartiya Manavta Vikas Puraskar, IIPM aims to pay respect to such stalwarts and wishes that many more will get inspired to follow in the footsteps.

The national faces who got awarded this year are those who have been consistently showcasing deep dedication and commitment towards establishing faith and hope in humanity and justice. While Shabana Azmi is a human rights and peace activist and heads the Mijwan Welfare Society, Nandita Das is known for her strong support for bringing about social justice for women, children, and marginalized communities. Dr. Bibek Debroy, who plays a key role in the Prime Minister’s Think Tank, was awarded for his efforts to resolve the nation’s unemployment issues. Another person who very well deserved the award was Dr. Uma Tuli, who is a person with many hats. She’s an educationist, a social worker, and a rehabilitation professional, and has been honored for her contributions across various fields in her complete capacity. Yuvraj Singh was recognized for his “Youwecan” initiative which focuses on spreading cancer awareness through affordable campaigns. Ashutosh and Flavia Agnes were among those who got honored for their contributions towards fighting against social injustice. Another personality who has done a lot for the society and got awarded was Adv. Pramila Nesargi, who is a social activist and the Chairperson of Samragni Swa Udyog Trust.

The next winner was Anita Ahuja who with her Conserve India campaign, has been working to promote energy efficiency, waste management, upcycling, and food security. Another such notable personality present during the award function was Bezwada Wilson who has, in fact, devoted all his life for establishing equality in the society. The next two who got recognized for their work were Dr. Lenin Raghuvanshi, who has been working for the dignity of the deprived sections of the society, and Atul Satija, who has established country’s largest donation platform, Give India. The last persona to receive the honor during the BMVP 2018 was Dr. Pravin P. Patkar, who is the Founder and Director of “Prerana” which is a foundation that works against human trafficking.

As a token of appreciation, all the awardees of BMVP 2018 were gifted with the prize money ranging from INR 50,000 to 5,00,000 by IIPM and Power Brands for their remarkable works and commitment. Dr. Arindam Chaudhury along with the entire crew of IIPM, firmly believes that such an event can help the youth to draw inspiration and take up the path to social welfare so as to bring about a positive change in the community.
