NTU is an internationally reputed research-intensive tertiary institution. NTU’s broad-based education covers science and technology, business and the arts, entrepreneurial and leadership skills to prepare students for the global working world. Today, NTU has four colleges with 12 schools, and three autonomous entities, the National Institute of Education, the S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, and the Earth Observatory of Singapore. Under the agies of NTU’s Global Discovery Programme which is jointly sponsor by NTU and The Economic Development Board of Singapore (EDP) 25 students of NTU were in IIPM campuses across India for four weeks. The aim was to give students general overview of India- its history, its cultural, its economic prowess, its business environment, its adaptation to the globalization phenomenon, amongst others. Students underwent thought provoking sessions on developmental economics in India and South East Asia, trade relations in the Indian Ocean region, socio-political changes in the country that has helped it in getting itself branded as a superpower of the future, etc. All this was delivered through a combination of classroom lectures, field trips and company visits to help the students get enriched by the best of IIPM faculty members / industry representatives from various subject domains. Students visited companies like Woodland, Fortis, ITC Green to name a few. At the end of the programme, the student learning was assessed through a systematic evaluation process. Tie up:
We have a GSEP – Global Student Exchange Program tie up with Nanyang Technological University. In 2008, professors from National University of Singapore, Singapore conducted a seven week course at the institute on Investment Banking for the top hundred students from IIPM leading to a joint certification in investment banking. In 2009, Nanyang Technological University sent students to IIPM for a four week course for an overview of the Indian culture and Indian economy.
