Torque (The Sports Club)

The primary idea of this club is to promote camaraderie in the batches through sports events and secondary aim is to encourage sports and games as an instrument for physical and mental agility. The club organizes competitive cricket tournaments, football matches, billiard competitions and many indoor games. Some of the major annual events of this club are the Aurobindo Chaudhuri Memorial Cricket Tournament, GOAL – the Football Tournament and the Sports Week.

IIPM Chandigarh organized Super Six Cricket Match

The Torque club of IIPM, Chandigarh had organized Cricket matches for the students as well as staff. Students from all the sections participated. There were nine teams of students (Balls N Dolls, Boost Breakers, Cricket Squad, Sons of Pitches, Chardi Kalla, Mean Machines, The Ligers, Connoisseur and Dazzlers of IIPM). Even the Staff from all the departments participated with equal enthusiasm, there were six teams ( IIPM Kings, Retaliators, Invincible, Choosy Dumpties, Star Warriors and Riders). Six over match with six players (four boys and two girls) each. There were knockout matches. Towards the end of the day students were drenching in sweat trying to prove their potential and it was obviously a hard-hitting competition. Dazzlers of IIPM were declared as winning team amongst students whereas Retaliators amongst the staff. These thrilling matches ended with putting each player left the ground with the feeling of oneness as they promised to take this relationship further year after year making this initiative an annual event.
