The Great Indian Dream

The GID Club has the objective of making India developed in health, education and employment by the year 2025. This will happen only when growth and development is targeted more importantly for the bottom 80% of India's population; thus the club aspires to strengthen the Indian economy from its roots by making the weaker section of the society more educated, aware, healthy and employable.

IIPM Chennai celebrates GID week with Mr. S. Venkatachalapathy, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Chennai

IIPM celebrated G.I.D. week from 12th to 17th March, 2012. Mr. S. Venkatachalapathy, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Egmore, Chennai came to the campus for inauguration. Mr.Debakanta Panda, Chairperson G.I.D. club welcomed him with a bouquet. Speaking straight from the heart, Mr. Venkatachalapathy spoke about the importance of cultivating the right attitude and character. Laced with humour and touching, real-life anecdotes, he mesmerized the audience with his powerful speech.

Health and eye check up at IIPM Chennai

As the saying goes “Stay strong, live long“, health and eye check up camp was organized by GID club in association with “Purple – the fitness centre” and Government Eye Hospital on 15th March, 2012. As many as 124 people benefited from this camp. The camp also organized Body Mass Index (BMI) test and scientific fitness tips were given to the people based on their IBW (Ideal Body weight) and diet. Doctors from Government eye hospital- Egmore conducted eye test for the participants and gave valuable suggestions with regard to eye care.

IIPM Chennai conducts a Blood Donation Camp

IIPM students and employees participated in a Blood Donation camp held on 16th March, 2012 as a part of GID week, organized by the GID club at IIPM Chennai campus in association with Indian Red Cross Society. The students and the employees were all extremely motivated and as many as 25 volunteers donated their blood. Following the camp, the Indian Red Cross Society issued certificates and ID cards to the donors. All in all, the event brought out the spirit of brotherhood in the volunteers who had come forward to happily help those in need.
