IIPM Pune conducts an industrial visit to Haworth India Pvt. Ltd.

An industrial visit was organized by IIPM Pune for PGP/11-13/Fall and PGP/10-12/Winter batch. Haworth, a US based MNC was founded in 1948, spread over 120 countries in the world. Haworth is a world market leader in the design and manufacture of adaptable workspaces, including office furniture, seating, partitions and floors. All Haworth products are characterized by global trend developments and reflect a constant endeavor to continue developing. It has entered most of the continents and now has made a niche market for itself. The students were given an exhaustive induction about the company and it products initially. This was followed by a factory visit. Here, an overview was given not only about the manufacturing of the office furniture, ‘chairs’ to be specific, but also oriented about the logistics & supply chain, marketing & sales of Haworth. Overall, it was an informative visit, wherein the students got an insight into the workings of the corporate office and the factory at Pune.

IIPM - Pune organizes an industrial visit to WHIRLPOOL OF INDIA

The trip to Whirlpool industries was an exciting prospect for students as it provided students with an insight as to how a large MNC functions and as to how the work is assigned in the industry. Firstly the students were given a brief introduction about Whirlpool in the conference room and then students were divided into two groups & were taken towards the factory. Students came to know how refrigerators are manufactured. Right from the moulding of the sheets of the refrigerator to the packing of it they saw the entire process. They also saw how the sheets are being cut and given shape and then formed into refrigerator. Throughout the process, students realized that there are lots of processes going on, which showed them that how the entire fridge is made up of by putting together many small components. Lastly, there had been question and answer session .The visit was a great experience as how the business world functions and gave students more knowledge as to how a business functions in practical world.

IIPM Pune students visit an Autistic Centre

Description: Every batch from IIPM Pune was given a target to collect some amount as a part of donations towards a visit to the autistic centre. Students from our institute visited the centre and played games and activities like musical chair, drawing competition, dance etc followed by snacks. Children had a very good time and in return they gave our students hand made cards and greetings. It was a different experience for both parties and our students felt great giving a helping hand.
