Amaze

AMAZE is one of the largest and the most electrifying annual fest organized by different IIPM centres across India. It is a platform for students to interact intellectually and creatively and do so while having fun. Not only is this a great platform for the students but also for the companies who take this opportunity to associate their brands and products with the power of youth.

Amaze 2011 at IIPM Lucknow

'AMAZE' the annual inter college management and cultural festival of IIPM was held at the Lucknow campus on 25th and 26th November 2011. The festival started with the lightening of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Brig. Amitav; Resident Director PHD Chamber of Commerce, Dean Prof. Amlan Ray and Mr. Arun Bhagoliwal, Asstt General Manager RBI. The event started with the 'Clash of the Titans'- The Debate Challenge which allowed the youths to voice their opinion on the topic- ‘Launching a luxury sports like F1 in a country like India was not a viable decision’. El-Dorado: The Great Gold Rush- Treasure Hunt saw massive fight of wits. With the clues on the cards it was a real hunt for treasure and finally the team from Lucknow University was triumphant. On the other hand Word's Worth- Creative Writing saw the maximum number of participants for any event. Out of the entire lot Subbah Zehra from IIPM was adjudged the best writer. Yin of Yang-Flip Back competition and Inde'X' factor- A complete CFO workout were also the events which saw high competition among the participants. Index factor stretched to more than three rounds because of the tie breakers and neck to neck scoring. 360 Degree- The Best Manager competition was an actual fight among the students to prove their mettle as effective managers. The entire game was designed in a manner that it brought out the actual skills, leadership qualities and the managerial traits of the students. The judges for the events were Dr. Tarun Singh Gangwar, Director MBA- IB programme of IMS, Lucknow University, our Dean Prof. Amlan Ray and Mr. Rakesh Ranjan, HR manager Aircel. In this challenging competition IIPM again stood out with Anish Vijay Moses from PG/F/11-13 batch winning the competition. The next contest was The 'AD GURU'- Ad Zap contest which had Mr. Rishi Gandhi, Regional Head Red FM as the judge. Along with him Prof. Aseem Rastogi a renowned marketing faculty judged the contest. Once again it was the display of excellent skills and creativity. The team of Mohd. Aamir Khan and Upasana Nigam from IIPM just sneaked in as the winners. The last event for the first day of Amaze was a perfect event to mark a colorful ending to day one. It was ‘Mask the Nature’- Face Painting competition where various teams battled it out on the topic- Nature's forces. The final day started with the series of events and this time the venue was Hari Lawns. A massive stage was put up along with beautiful arrangements to encourage the participants. Road play- Display of Dramatic Skills was the first competition on social causes mixed up with skilled dramatics and the eagerness of fighting. Students put up a role model display of dramatics. Isabella Thoburn stood out in the competition. IIPM Star- Solo Singing competition, the next event witnessed some beautiful rendition of songs with Anurag Srivastava from JNPG College emerging as the winner. Anurag left the audience spellbound with his song. Following the sequence next on the list was Rhythms of the Soul- the Choreography Competition. In the final round there were four teams who fought hard for the top spot. Once again it was Isabella Thoburn College adjudged as the winners due to their excellent theme performance- ‘Never Give Up’. This competition set the stage on fire and the legacy was carried forward by the Rock Band competition where eight bands performed their best in front of the crowd of thousands, in the quest of achieving the first prize and the cash reward of Rs. 10,000. The event was judged by the famous band ‘Trishna’ who later took the stage for a guest performance. Hardly people were able to get out of the hangover of hardcore rock music and the next competition started. It was the most awaited competition of the day Mr. and Ms. Amaze- the Personality Contest. The competition was designed beautifully in three rounds based on talent, IQ and Ramp walk. Six finalists gave each other tough competition and finally Mohd. Aamir Khan from IIPM and Shruti from Isabella Thoburn College were adjudged Mr. and Ms. Amaze. Last but not the least 'HAUTE'- COUTURE- the Fashion Show contest began. Again the same pattern of two rounds saw two finalists wherein IIPM got the laurels. All these events were followed by the prize distribution where the Chief Guest; Wing Commander Narang, Director Sales MTS Mr. Raza Rizvi and our Dean Prof. Amlan Ray gave away the certificates, trophies, prizes and the MTS gift hampers. The prize distribution saw a lot of enthusiastic winners getting motivated for the next platform or should we say larger than life event 'Amaze 2011' at the Delhi campus.
