Industrial Visit to Iscon Mall at IIPM Ahmedabad

It was an amazing experience to visit Iscon Mall with the students of UGP/SS/11-14/A, B, C, D, ISBE and understand the art of managing and operating a bunch of people with a lot of different work. It was here, where we realized plenty of responsibility of mall staffs. Students left at 3:30 p.m in afternoon for the visit and arrived at 4:00 p.m to Iscon Mall. After that we all moved towards the Iscon Mall’s management office where Mr. Akash Deep was waiting for us.Mr. Akash Deep is currently working with Iscon Mall, Gujarat as an Area Manager, There are three Iscon group malls in Gujarat and all come under observation of Mr. Akash Deep. It was an honor for our UGP/SS/11-14 students to have him as a guide and industry instructor and delivering word of mouth on ‘Professionalism re defined’ on wider aspects. Mr. Akash Deep very well started with explaining ISCON Group, which today is among Gujarat’s pre-eminent real estate developers, with a widespread corporate reputation founded on benchmark performance.

Industrial Visit to Times of India

The times of India is a newspaper publishing press under Bennett & Coleman that caters the needs of whole state of Gujarat. We first gathered in class room at 3:20 p.m., took the attendance of students and then we went for visit. We arrived at Times of India around 4:00 p.m. After that, we were moving in to the times of India press with Mr. Kiran Shanbhag. He is working as Market development head in Times of India. In times of India press, there are two types of machines. The old machines are used for business papers & new machines are used for general newspaper. Digital instructions are given to the machines for printing.The old machines have the capacity of around 14000 copies per hour. And the new machines have the capacity of 35000 copies per hour. Out of there whole revenue 10% comes of them they earn from distribution of papers & rest 90% from sharing space in the newspaper for advertisement.

Industrial Visit to Radio Mirchi-98.3 FM

We visited a one of the famous radio station that is 98.3 FM RADIO MIRCHI.They have total 33 branches all over India. They are using RCS(Radio Computing System) for playing songs. By using this software they are easily able to set all songs for many days which run automatically for many days. This software is used by all over the world means 80% to 85% radio stations are using this software. They have 2 types of arrangements or we can say 2 type of emergency department. Main is called as OWNER STUDIO & second one will be BACK UP STUDIO which is used when their original studio stops working.

Industrial Visit to Amul for student of UGP-SS 11-14 batches from IIPM Ahmedabad

The Amul is a brand which makes its mark in every Indian heart. We first gathered at IIPM in the morning at 7:30 a.m. , took the attendance of students and then we went for visit via bus . We arrived Amul at 9:30 in Anand After that, we were moving in to the main plant of Amul, where we met Mr. Sundaram and his team. Mr. Sundaram is a SR. P.R.O at Amul Dairy. Mr. Sundaram took us to Amul’s Museum where we acknowledged about the history of Amul.

We also came to know that how they manage their delivery & how hey arrange newspapers & pack it at last. They also provide plastic packing during rain. They also have their cafeteria which is very attractive & colorful so that when employees come for break they should feel relax and comfortable. Also they have best garden ranked second in AHMEDABAD add to the serenity to the campus. The machine converts soft paper to harder paper. In old machines they use 4 types of color. After the printing they have folder machine which cut the newspaper & then fold the newspaper automatically. These processes are then being continuously going on a belt which passes all the newspaper step by step. The machine name is CHOROSATE MACHINE.. At last there is a electronic counter which counts the copies and then make its sets automatically. The production department is having 100 -120 people to work. The surplus is 500 copies per day. They have one agent for a particular city or village. They give return benefits to their salesman & distributors. The actual newspaper cost is of more than RS.10 but they gives in 2.50 to 3 and rest of the money they have collected from different area like advertisement. These machines print all pages in different colors which includes 12 different colors. After that, we went to “Radio Mirchi” campus which is situated on the next door of TOI press. For network purpose they have their towers which are having a height of 121meter. These both towers give network around 18km. For old connecting purpose they have hyper line which holds a 10kg volt power. If by chance their studio or station stops working or light is not there then they have an arrangement of Generator which can run for 8hours continuously with a capacity of 400 liter per day . The RJ'S (Radio Jockey) are getting a salary of near about 50 to 60 rupees per second. Moreover, for becoming RJ, a person should at least graduate from any University and should have very well command on Hindi, English and Gujarati. In a nutshell, it was an amazing experience and plenty of learning for UGP students during visit. We finished our visit around 4:45 p.m. and return back to IIPM campus around 5:00 p.m.
