Movie time at IIPM Indore

There are some stories you simply cannot tell, so speaking of heroism, gravity of situation, and of solitude and faith, this story of survival was surely one of them. The movie ALIVE, showcased under the Recall club on 11th May’2011 at IIPM, Indore, demonstrated back breaking effort by a team of rugby players.Based on a true story, the movie talks about the raucous rugby players and a few of their relatives and friends eagerly looking forward to the upcoming match in Chile. However, after emerging from clouds, the plane encounters turbulence during the descent and collides with an unknown mountain peak.

“Vertical Limit” movie shown to IIPMiets Indore

On14 July 2011 the IIPMiets were shown the movie VERTICAL LIMIT, under the Recall club.The movie was all about, how a team is trapped in an icy grave at 26,000 feet - a death zone above the vertical limit of endurance where the human body cannot survive for long. Every second counts enlists the help of a crew of fellow climbers, including eccentric, reclusive mountain man , to ascend the chilling might of the world's most feared peak to save other .

“8 Below” movie shown to IIPMiets Indore

Motivation is what gets you started at a new beginning & what could have been better than welcoming our new batch with tons of motivation. Under the Recall Club, The movie “8 Below” seemed to be the apt ingredient to stir-up our new IIPMiets at the onset of their campus life. The movie based on a Japanese Antarctic film and inspired by a real-life story of sled dogs who survived in extended subzero abandonment.

Guest lecture by Mr. Gokul Upadhyay on The Geeta for Business management, Leadership and performance at IIPM Indore

On 20th August 2011 IIPM Events team organized a guest lecture by Gokul Upadhyay on the topic “The GEETA FOR BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, LEADERSHIP AND PERFORMANCE”, under the “Recall Club”.The speaker addressed the students with the fact that just like the logics and rules in Computer Science; the Geeta is a book of natural logics and rules in practical human life and beyond. We should learn management lesson from our own culture rather than going for foreign culture, because these lessons are universal in nature & not culture specific. It has got all the management tactics to achieve the mental equilibrium.Gita emphasizes the value of “doing” over “knowing”. This has given the IIPMiets a vision which will enable them to act more accurately and objectively analyzing the situations. The speaker laid Stress on valuing knowledge and wisdom, and admiring perceptive and wise people. The session was really knowledge enhancing giving student a world class exposure on tactics for managing tasks not only in their professional but also in their personal lives.

Guest lecture on topic Importance of goal setting, interview skills and employ-ability in current environment at IIPM Indore

Goal setting is an imperative part of the mindset towards success. On 15th September 2011 we had Mr.Rahul Priyadarshani who is working with focus Educate Pvt. Ltd, as Head (Operations) north region for addressed the IIPM students in a guest lecture on the topic “Importance of Goal Setting/Interview Skills and Employ-ability in Current Environment”, under the Recall club. The speakers started the session with Ice breaking questions, the questions were astute which initiated the IIPM students to think notionally and for every right answer they were gifted chocolates which were a motivation for them. During the session the students were compiled to set smart goals and maintain a synergy between life and goal in order to grab the emerging opportunities in today’s scenario. Several motivational illustrations helped students to realize their long term goals and set periodic short term approach towards its attainment. The session was summed-up by some ideas which would be providing assistance for a streamlined career path to the students.

Guest lecture by Ms Jaya Chakravarty on topic

Continuing with the Series of Guest Lectures, under the Recall Club On 15 October 2011, we had Ms Jaya Chakravarty who is not only an inspiring motivational speaker but also a leadership cum life-skill coach who have conducted various training programmes for the corporate sector and student community. At IIPM campus she has delivered a session on the topic “WHAT BLOCKS YOUR VISION", in the lectures she discussed about various hurdles which stops a person from reaching the destiny. The lecture covered multidimensional aspects of human life ,she tried hard to make the students aware of the facts that success always require hard work and struggle ,It cannot be gifted. Decision plays very important role in shaping career and for taking a right decision one need to involve the gut felling .Success is a compound composed of three elements vision, mission and decision. Its the power of imagination which gave rise to invention of Airplane. Therefore to reach the destination the core values needed to be put along.

Gokul Upadhayay delivered a session on Gita’s 10 power points for Success

Gita emphasizes the value of “doing” over “knowing”. To endow our IIPM students with this practical approach in Life, we called upon Mr. Gokul Upadhayay, to deliver a session under the Recall club, on 2nd November ’2011. Under the title of “Gita’s 10 power points for Success”, the speaker put forth the significance of the objective approach gained from this Epic. Like the logics and rules in Computer Science, the Gita is a book of natural logics and rules in practical human life and beyond. Coming from our own culture, the managements lessons gained from this Epic, are universal in nature & not culture specific. It has got all the management tactics to achieve the mental equilibrium, the speaker stressed. The speaker emphasized on valuing knowledge, wisdom, admiring perceptive and wise people. The session was truly a value addition, giving students world class exposure on management tactics. This will not only enable them for managing tasks in their professional but also in their personal lives. This has given each participant a vision which will enable them to act more accurately and objectively analyzing every situation.
